The precious blood of Jesus Christ Part 3

3. We have peace with God through the blood.

We have peace with God in not being able to keep the law. Now the law was not given to gentile men but to the nation of Israel. However in coming to God we realize because of the Law that His standard is absolute perfection. No one could keep the law.

Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not hear the law?  For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman, the other by a freewoman. But he who was of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, and he of the freewoman through promise,  which things are symbolic. For these are the two covenants: the one from Mount Sinai which gives birth to bondage, which is Hagar— for this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children— but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all Galatians 4:21-26

Because of the blood we have peace from the broken law in so much that we can now rest on Mt Zion verses struggling on Mt Sinai! Because of the blood we are free from the law. We are no longer at unrest trying to follow the commandments on stone that could only demand and never supply! Now freedom from the law is not the main focus of this particular topic, (it would take another series for that) but it is still good news! Point is though the blood has pacified God's perfect standards so we can come boldly to Him! In fact we never need leave His presence!

We also have peace from a guilty conscience through the blood! We are no longer bound by thoughts of defeat and quitting when we fail.

And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. Colossians 1:20

We are also no longer considered enemies with God! We have a cleansed conscience. We no longer have to shrink back in terror or dread!  The Old Covenant could never clear the guilt and condemnation one felt if they missed it. So what is so great about that you may ask? If, you miss it and you are eaten up with guilt this feeling of condemnation will not equal change! It will not make you cease your negative behavior pattern. All it accomplishes is that you shrink back and won't run to the Father. When we have a peace consciousness we will run to Him in faith and love!

One thing we must also understand is that God is not mad at us! How can I be in fellowship with someone when I believe they're constantly in a state of wrath? Jesus has made peace with my Father and me! He took all that judgement unto Himself. The judgement and wrath that I deserved. That is the beauty of His grace. It is unearned and unmerited acceptance, favor and love and total forgiveness!

We have complete peace with God. Praise the Lord we are free. We are loved. We are no longer in some "war" with God and man! Jesus won the battle and we are on the winning side. We are no longer lost or forgotten. We are redeemed and loved and free!
